As a co-founder with a degree in Electrical Engineering and 40+ years in various IT roles, I have witnessed significant changes. In my early years working as a Systems Engineer at IBM, work that would take a person a week, can now be completed in seconds with a push of a button. I witnessed a young Microsoft company disrupt the global IBM empire, as entrepreneurs in the AI space are now repeating to Microsoft. The iPhone I use has significantly more processing and storage than mainframes we used to commission for $10’s of millions of dollars.
I worked in China for a short time around the start of this millennium. Since that time China has made an amazing modernisation transformation and developed enormously in technical capability and I believe is now leading the world in low cost humanoid robotics.
It is a fabulous time to be alive on this planet, and I am grateful to be living through the next wave of technological evolution.
